Background

Ken Mullen has been Assistant Vice President and Controller since July, 2011. Prior to this, he served as Assistant Vice President for Business and Finance at Elon University in North Carolina since 2001 and as the Elon University Comptroller from 1993 - 2001. He also served as the Comptroller at the New York Botanical Garden, Institute of Ecosystem Studies in Millbrook, NY, and as the Administrator for Business Affairs and as a Budget Analyst at the Wayne State University Medical School in Detroit, MI. His career in higher education and research institutions has spanned more than 25 years. He has an undergraduate degree in Corporate Finance and an M.B.A. with an emphasis in Management from the University of Toledo. Mr. Mullen is a member of NACUBO and WACUBO, has served on the Board of the Datatel Southeastern User's Group, the Planning Board of SACUBO, and is an alumnus of Leadership North Carolina. 

Key Areas of Responsibility

As Pacific's Controller, Assistant Vice President Mullen directs and coordinates Financial Reporting, Payroll, Purchasing, Sponsored Program Accounting & Reporting, and Tax Compliance, and leads in the formulation of financial policies, procedures and controls.
