Incident Reporting

The eCommerce Compliance Department has partnered with the University's Internal Audit Department for incident reporting.  The University's Fraud Hotline, hosted by an outside 3rd party, is to be used to report any known or suspected instances of Identity Theft or Payment Processing Fraud.

Report these incidents anonymously online or by calling toll-free (888) 211-1363.

University of the Pacific takes the issue of ethics and compliance with laws, regulations and University policy very seriously.

A brief list of potential Identity Theft or Fraudulent Payment Card Processing might include:

  • Identification that looks altered in some manner
  • Addresses cannot be verified
  • Notification from 3rd parties that an Identity has been compromised
  • Accepting credit card information and storing that data indefinitely
  • Storing complete cardholder data in an unsecure facility or manner
  • The use of payment processing software not reviewed by the Commerce Department
  • Customary resolution methods, such as talking to your supervisor or administrator, referring the matter to the head of your organization (e.g., chair, dean, director or divisional head) or reporting an issue to a central University department such as Human Resources, Controller or Internal Audit are still important first-line approaches for reporting questionable activities. However, the Fraud Hotline is available whenever conventional channels are not successful in addressing an issue or when anonymity is desired.

    The University does not tolerate any retaliatory actions against any person for making a good faith report about potential misconduct.

    Do not use this site to report events presenting an immediate threat to life or property.
