Holiday ROAR

Faculty and Staff Holiday Luncheon

University of the Pacific faculty and staff are invited to join President Pamela Eibeck for a festive luncheon to kick off the holiday season from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, in the Don and Karen De Rosa University Center Ballroom. The event also marks the university's annual Holiday ROAR book drive.

Reach Out and Read book drive

University of the Pacific will once again participate in the Holiday ROAR book drive. In cooperation with Reach out and Read San Joaquin, the month-long campus-wide book drive benefits low-income children in San Joaquin County. Students, faculty and staff are invited to contribute new children's books at the collection area in the DeRosa University Center from Nov. 7 - 29. Books in Spanish are especially needed. Get together with your unit or department and donate books on topics you're passionate about!

Reach Out and Read San Joaquin is a local nonprofit that works with pediatricians to distribute books to children during routine check-ups. Doctors also are trained to talk with parents about early literacy and the importance of reading with their children. Holiday ROAR is aligned with the Beyond Our Gates early literacy campaign.
