Minutes: Minutes of the March 15 meeting were approved.
Lackey announced that U.S. News and World Report moved the Law School from the 3rd Tier into the top 100.
Current Agenda Items:
Final FY06 President's Budget Recommendations, FY06
Perro distributed the President's Budget Recommendations to the Board of Regents. The document summarizes the budget priorities for continued advancement of the University and proposed tuition and fee increases for all three campuses.
Financial Ratios, Debt Service, etc.
Cavanaugh presented an overview of the financial issues and debt policy. With rates beginning to go up, Gilbertson thought a proposal to issue another bond next year would be well within our capacity.
A comparative analysis of student, faculty, and staffing ratios and trends for both university-wide and Stockton-only growth was presented by Brodnick. Analyses are based on the November 1 census. Prior to 2002, Pacific's reporting showed inconsistencies but recent improvements have increased the accuracy of data. In 2003, reclassification was implemented to more appropriately match job duties. Sina requested that corrections be made to the Student Life division's data before the upcoming presentation to Academic Council.
Cost Allocation Model
Presented by Brodnick, The Cost Allocation Model (CAM) compares the contributions of each academic unit on the Stockton campus to the overall financial picture of the university. The presentation updated IPC with new charts and data showing restricted and designated accounts. Gilbertson noted that student-faculty ratios are targets important to the model. He added that the Council of Deans is currently working to provide additional information regarding ratio norms and optimal levels in each discipline.
