Current Agenda Items:

IAAA Ranking
King presented Pacific's history in the Director's Cup dating back to 1995/1996 school year. This report was generated due to the NCAA was mentioned in the Pacific Rising and the statement referring to what is meant to our athletic being the top 10 NCAA Division One IAAA programs? Lynn explained that Division One IA refers to upper level football schools which will have 85 scholarships, IAA represents second tier and will have 64 scholarship limit and IAAA represents non-playing football institutions. This past December the NCAA changed the division rankings to, IAAA now refers to IA, and IAA is a combination that will refer to football (there's no exact verbiage on the NCAA web site as of yet). We will be referred to as Division One. The NCAA has received a lot of complaints and their rankings may change again.

Dental School Budget Presentation
Dental School's 2007/2008 Budget Proposal was presented by Ferrillo. Focus in the proposal was multi-year budgeting, strategic planning, the future of the San Francisco Campus, retention of full-time faculty and continue investment in the capital replacement fund.

The group discussed tuition for our disadvantaged, economic minority students and how it can 'scare off' some first generation students, but with the success rate of building a small business once they graduate their income can be staggering. Further discussed educating our students to go back into their communities and provide services for others who are disadvantaged as well. We need to bring this topic into the profession for discussion.

Next meeting: Tuesday, February 20th, 2007, 2 - 4 p.m. in the Taylor Conference Room.

Meeting adjourned at 3:52 p.m.
