Current Agenda Items:

Student Satisfaction Inventory

The following is a brief outline of the Student Satisfaction Inventory (SSI) presented by Brodnick. Three questions were the basis for the study.

  1. Did freshmen then and now show any differences on the scales?
  2. Looking at one group of students, were changes found over time?
  3. How does Pacific compare to peer institutions?

Under each question, there are 11 dimensions of student satisfaction that were measured.

  • Academic Advising
  • Instructional Effectiveness
  • Registration Effectiveness
  • Recruitment and Fin Aid
  • Concern for the Individual
  • Campus Climate
  • Campus Life
  • Student Centeredness
  • Safety and Security
  • Service Excellence
  • Campus Support Services

Safety and Security reported the most dramatic improvement and Academic Advising showed gains as well. A more in depth look at the complete results and graphics of the SSI can be found on the Planning and Research website at: http://iris.pacific.edu under Research Reports.

Due to an all day Council of Deans meeting in San Francisco on October 26, the IPC meeting scheduled on that date has been canceled.

Next meeting: November 9, 2004, 3-5pm

Meeting adjourned at 4:09
