Assistant Professors, Biological Sciences

The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of the Pacific (www.pacific.edu) invites applications for two full-time, tenure-track positions at the level of Assistant Professor in the following areas of specialization.
1. Microbiology: Teaching responsibilities for this position include Microbiology, General Biology, and an upper division course in the candidate's area of interest.
2. Physiology: Teaching responsibilities for this position include Human Physiology, General Biology, and an upper division course in the candidate's area of interest.
For both positions, teaching responsibilities are two courses per semester, with the potential for one of these course assignments to be in the General Education program. Successful candidates will develop laboratory-based research programs that engage undergraduate and Master's students all year-round. Area of research specialization is open. Additionally, candidates are expected to actively pursue external funding.
Qualifications: Ph.D. and post-doctoral experience with a strong commitment to teaching, research, and University service. Candidates that have demonstrated an ability to effectively teach diverse students are preferred.
