THE UNIVERSITY OF THE PACIFIC, DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY invites applications for a full-time, open-rank tenure-track position in Social Psychology to begin Aug 2013. The ideal candidate will have a record of excellent undergraduate teaching, and will engage students in a strong research program along with other opportunities for experiential and interdisciplinary learning. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in psychology.
We are seeking a Social Psychologist who can teach social psychology, research methods or statistics, and other courses within his or her area of expertise. The sub-specialty of the position is open, and we especially invite candidates whose scholarship shows promise of practical applications in such areas as heath, business, law, or community. Experience in innovative teaching technologies, including use of technology for flexible instructional delivery, is also sought. Faculty in the department teach 2 courses per semester and are expected to actively engage undergraduate students in experiential learning, maintain a strong research program, and participate in the department and university community through service. More advanced hires would also be expected to take an active role in curricular development and in promoting interactions between psychology and other academic units across the University's three campuses. Qualified candidates should have a demonstrated commitment to diversity, experience teaching a diverse population, and be able to integrate diversity into the curriculum.
