Three Full-Time, Tenure Track Positions in the Department of Physical Therapy

THREE FULL-TIME, TENURE TRACKPOSITIONS AVAILABLE:
Director of Clinical Education (DCE); Neurorehabilitation; Open
The Department of Physical Therapy at the University of the Pacific is excited to announce an expansion of its faculty and is seeking applicants for three full-time tenure track, 11-month faculty positions. Desired start date for the DCE and neurorehabilitation positions is Fall of 2012; the third open position is available in 2013. Each position will remain open until filled.
The University of the Pacific in Northern California offers an accredited DPT degree. The successful candidates will join a dynamic, full-time faculty and adjunct clinical faculty in a concise, student-centered program. The tenure-track faculty positions include teaching and research in areas of expertise as well as teaching in other clinically related courses and university service. The DCE position includes planning, coordinating, and administering the clinical education program with the support of an administrative assistant, as well as limited teaching and scholarship in areas of expertise and university service. Areas of DPT teaching needs include clinical neurorehabilitation, integumentary, geriatrics and acute care, although other areas of teaching/clinical expertise will be considered. Applications will be reviewed starting July 1, 2012 and review will be on-going until the positions are filled.
University of the Pacific is an independent, comprehensive academic institution in the Central Valley in Stockton, California, with a School of Dentistry in San Francisco and the McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento. Stockton is about 1.5 hours from both San Francisco and the Sierra Nevada mountains. University of the Pacific in Stockton has about 5,000 students enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences and Schools of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, Education, Engineering, Business, Music, and International Studies. The Department of Physical Therapy is a part of the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy & Health Sciences and currently enrolls 36 students annually. The Department has a stable operational budget and enjoys a new state-of-the-art clinic and classrooms. The University is particularly interested in recruiting diverse candidates to meet the needs of our increasingly diverse student population.
Qualifications for all positions:
* Earned clinical/academic doctoral degree * Teaching/DCE experience preferred
* Three years of clinical experience * National Board Certification preferred
* Eligible for PT licensure in California * Demonstrated commitment to scholarly activity
