Center for Teaching and Learning

 

The mission of the Center for Teaching and Learning is to support the Pacific faculty in their pursuit of excellence in teaching, learning, and research.  The Center provides services and resources to assist faculty in becoming more effective, active teachers and scholars.

Location and Hours

The CTL is located on the second floor of the William Knox Holt Memorial Library in Room 230.  It is opened Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., though services are often provided outside of those times by request.

Faculty Services

Presentations & Workshops

Whether focused on teaching, learning, research, assessment, or use of Pacific's Sakai CLE learning management system, these scheduled events are presented and/or moderated by Pacific faculty or individuals possessing expertise in the topic.

Individual and Small Group Consultations

Available by request, these consultations can be customized to specific needs of the Pacific faculty member.  These sessions have been particularly valuable to those needing assistance with using Pacific's Sakai CLE.

The CTL Facility

Whether the individual faculty member is seeking a quiet location for "prep", or to accommodate small group working sessions, the CTL facility is available for faculty use.  Contact the Center to schedule your events.

Video and Audio Production

The CTL can provide filming and editing services, along with assistance with podcast creation and instruction.

Equipment Loan

The CTL maintains a limited inventory of hardware for faculty checkout: laptops, tablets, iPods, digital cameras, digital voice recorders and audience response systems (clickers) are available.
