ECAR Study of Undergraduate Students and Information Technology, 2012
The EDUCAUSE Center for Applied Research (ECAR) has published this report each year since 2004. This year's study was the result of ECAR's collaboration with 195 institutions. More than 100,000 students responded to the survey about their actual experiences with various hardware and software technologies, including those used for the purposes of teaching and learning. NMC Horizon Report, 2013 Higher Ed Edition
A collaborative effort between the New Media Consortium and the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative, this is the ninth edition describing findings from the NMC Horizon Project, a research project identifying six emerging technologies most likely to impact learning, teaching, and creative inquiry in higher education over the next five years. Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U)
The AAC&U is the leading national association advocating quality undergraduate liberal education, and provides publications, meetings, and other programs.
Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching
Founded in 1905, the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching is an independent policy and research center focused on promoting teaching and learning.
Creative Commons (CC)
A non-profit organization created to provide a standardized infrastructure to increase options to share creative works. It has released several copyright-licenses free of charge to the public. These licenses enable creators to specify the rights they reserve and/or waive for the benefit of others.
A non-profit organization with a mission "to advance higher education by promoting the intelligent use of information technology." With a current membership of more than 2,000 colleges, universities, educational organizations, and corporations, it sponsors a number of major initiatives related to the use of technology in institutions of higher education, including the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative (see next entry.)
EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative (ELI)
An EDUCAUSE strategic initiative, ELI focuses on learners, learning principles, and learning technologies (in that order.) It recognizes that the value of technology is determined by the learning innovation it can enable.
