7.3.5 Limitation on Time in the Rank of Instructor

Approved by Academic Council, Faculty, Administration

No one may hold the rank of instructor on a full-time continuous appointment for more than three years, or for more than two years with one or more years of prior full-time four year college or University teaching experience.

An instructor must either be considered for promotion to assistant professor or be informed at the appropriate time (see Section 7.9.1) that reappointment will not occur.
