Assistant Professor, World History
The History Department of the University of the Pacific invites applications for a tenure track position in world history. A specialization is preferred in one of the following fields: History of Science and Technology and transnational global themes. Candidates in fields outside of North America will be considered. Candidates should hold the Ph.D. by time of appointment. Experience teaching a diverse population is preferred. The teaching load is 5 courses per year with expectation of teaching regularly in the university's Pacific Seminar sequence and general education program. Faculty members are also required to advise undergraduates and participate in the university community through service. Additionally, Pacific faculty members are expected to maintain a strong research program. Applications must be received by November 1, 2012.
