1. The minutes of the IPC meeting held on June 27, 2000 were approved as distributed.

2. The Committee discussed the schedule for meetings during fall semester. Meetings will be held on Thursdays from noon until 2:00 p.m.

3. The Committee devoted considerable attention to formulating a plan to prepare a new Mission, Vision, and Priorities (MVP) Statement for the University. The idea of a fall retreat was discussed, but found wanting due to the timing of the National Commission working groups. The work of the National Commission will wind up in January 2001, and will be useful in formulating the new MVP. With this in mind, it may be useful to hold a retreat in January.

During fall semester, IPC members will work with the material generated from June 6, 2000 retreat. Dr. Gilbertson assigned IPC members to three task groups to begin work on the (1) Vision Statement, (2) Planning Assumptions, and (3) Planning Priorities. Each task group will report back to the IPC at the September 14, 2000 meeting.

The Committee discussed holding open forums on the three campuses to discuss a new MVP.

4. The Committee discussed a time table for distribution of the IPC Planning and Budget Assumptions
