Jeff Rhode has more than 12 years of leadership experience in development roles where his teams have succeeded in raising more than $60 million in support of higher education. He recently served as senior director of development and alumni relations for the School of Pharmacy at University of California, San Francisco. Prior to that, he held a number of leadership positions at University of California, Berkeley, including senior director of development in university relations; executive director of development for the College of Engineering; and director of corporate and foundation relations and major gifts for the Walter A. Haas School of Business. He also worked as part of UC Berkeley's Athletic Department media relations group, following earlier work at ESPN.
In his role as associate dean for development, Rhode will oversee all areas of fundraising for the dental school, including the capital campaign; the Pacific Dugoni Annual Fund; major and planned gifts; annual giving and advancement events. He will oversee the department's staff and work closely with school leaders, alumni, donors, and corporate and foundation partners to ensure the school moves forward to meet its fundraising goals.
Rhode holds both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts degree from UC Berkeley, and a Masters of Arts degree from the University of San Francisco. He and his wife Nada live in Kensington, Calif., with their two sons, Miles and Oliver, ages seven and five.
