Nancy DeGuireDr. Nancy L. DeGuire joined University of the Pacific in 1997 and is currently Assistant Dean for External Relations and Associate Clinical Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (PHS).

In her role as Assistant Dean for External Relations, she oversees a staff of six individuals with shared responsibilities for major gift fundraising, annual giving, corporate and foundation relationships, marketing and communications, alumni relations and donor stewardship, event planning, business development and continuing professional education for the school. Since she joined University Advancement in 2002, the PHS External Relations staff has raised more than $25 million, with provisions for new and renovated facilities, technology enhancement, program support, scholarships, faculty support, and annual giving.

Nancy earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of the Pacific in 1989 and completed postgraduate residency training with the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in 1990. After spending a rewarding decade in community pharmacy management and patient care with Longs Drug Stores, she joined the faculty at Pacific as an Assistant Professor. Nancy is responsible for teaching in the Pharmacy Practice department, particularly in the areas of cultural competency, health literacy, professionalism, technology, and public health.
