    Apr 21, 2010

After completing the hat trick against No. 10 Cal State Northridge and No. 12 UC Santa Barbara junior Bridget Geck (Huntington Beach, Calif.) has been named the Big West Women's Water Polo Player of the Week on April 21, 2010.

Of Geck's six goals on the weekend, her most important goal came at the 2:39 spot in sudden death against No. 10 Cal State Northridge on Saturday, April 17. Geck found the back of the net to help the Tiger upset No. 10 Cal State Northridge and prevent the Matadors from going undefeated in the Big West. Bridget also recorded one steal and one field block in Pacific's win over the Matadors. With the Big West title on the line against No. 12 UC Santa Barbara on Sunday, April 18, Geck again completed the hat trick against the Gauchos to help the Tigers win the 13-9 decision.

Geck has notched a total of 39 goals in 29 games for a 1.34 goal per game average, and is the third Tiger this season to earn the award. Junior Dara Tawarahara (Honolulu, Hawaii) was named the Player of the Week on March 24 after tallying nine goals in three games. Freshman Jasmine Myles (Auckland, New Zealand) has earned the honor twice this season (Feb. 4 and 24).
