Pacific Women's Soccer: Figueroa Leads Pacific To Third Spring Victory, Defeating Cal State Stanislaus, 4-0

    Apr 22, 2010

Playing on the road for the first time in spring play, the Pacific women's soccer team blanked local rival Cal State Stanislaus 4-0, on Saturday April 17. The Tigers have improved to a perfect 3-0 in spring play.

"We had several quality scoring chances," head coach Keith Coleman said. "The girls played really well and controlled the ball and the tempo all night. They have been playing at a very high level, regardless of the competition. We have a big test coming up on Sunday against the Storm."

Sophomore Angelica Figueroa (Linden, Calif.) tallied three of Pacific's four goals, after sophomore Kristina Wavomba (Encinitas, Calif.) opened up the scoring with the first goal of the contest.

The Tigers commanded the game, outshooting the Warriors 26 shots to six. Pacific had several more close calls on top of its four goals, striking the goal post twice and having two more goals called back.

Pacific returns back to campus in search of its fourth-straight victory on Sunday, April 25, taking on the California Storm at 2 p.m. at Knoles Field.
