Pacific Women's Water Polo: No. 16 Pacific Travels South To No. 13 UC Irvine and Long Beach State

Looking to pick up another conference win, Pacific's women's water polo team travels to Southern California April, 10-11, to take on No. 13 UC Irvine (9-13, 0-2 Big West) and Long Beach State (7-16, 0-2 Big West).

In Pacific's first weekend of conference play, the Tigers defeated No. 18 UC Davis, 7-5. Offensively juniors Catherine Collett (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and Dara Tawarahara (Honolulu, Hawai'i) scored two goals apiece in the Pacific's win over the Aggies. Freshman Brooke Millar (Auckland, New Zealand) finished her first Big West conference game with 11 saves in the cage for the Tigers.

In the second game on the day, the Tigers downed Fresno-Pacific 16-8. In the contest, Pacific was led by freshman Jasmine Myles (Auckland, New Zealand), sophomore Katherine Biehle (Visalia, Calif.) and Tawarahara who scored three goals each. Biehle also finished the game with three steals while junior Kailee Bucknum (Mission Viejo, Calif.) had five saves in the goal.

For the seventh time this season, Pacific's women's water polo team has appeared in the Collegiate Water Polo Association's (CWPA) Top 20 Poll. In the latest poll released by the CWPA, the Tigers remained at the No. 16 position after picking up a 7-5 conference win over No. 18 UC Davis on Saturday, April 3.

The Tigers face UC Irvine on Saturday, April 10 at 12 p.m. Pacific then travels to Long Beach, Calif., Sunday, April 11, to take on the 49ers at 12 p.m.
