    Shooting at Alabama University in Huntsville

    Earlier today there was a shooting on the campus of University of Alabama in Huntsville. Police said they have arrested a suspect and have confirmed at least three dead and one seriously injured. It is not known how the victims were connected to the university at this time, but our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their loved ones. Anytime violence penetrates a university community, we are all impacted.

    Counselors are available for any student affected by today's events in Alabama by calling Stockton campus Counseling Services at 209.946.2315, ext. 2.

    The University would like to assure students, staff and faculty that administrators are constantly reviewing safety and security proceedings at Pacific. This includes holding monthly meetings of the Pacific Alert Team, working closely with local law enforcement officers on training exercises, and updating and testing PacificCONNECT, the primary emergency messaging system for the entire University.
