    Women's Water Polo: Tigers Travel to Road Runner Invite

    The Pacific women's water polo team returns to action this weekend as the Tigers head south to Cal State Bakersfield's Road Runner Invite.

    Pacific begins tournament action on Sat., Feb. 13, against No. 16 California Baptist at 12:05 p.m. followed by No. 9 Hartwick at 4:25 p.m. The Tigers will conclude tournament play Sun., Feb. 14, against Colorado State and Occidental. This is the second weekend in a row the Tigers face off against Top 20 opponents.

    Last weekend Pacific kicked off the 2010 season going 2-3 at the NorCal Tournament, which included a pair of victories over Cal State East Bay and Cal State Monterey Bay. The Tigers three losses came at the hands of nationally ranked opponents No. 3 Hawaii (11-5), No. 14 UC Davis (10-9 OT) and No. 1 Stanford (19-8).

    Offensively on the weekend, the Tigers were led by junior Dara Tawarahara (Honolulu, Hawaii) and freshman Jasmine Myles (Auckland, New Zealand). Tawarahara recorded nine goals and two steals, which included a five goal performance in Pacific's 13-5 victory over Cal State East Bay. Myles finished the weekend with 14 goals, two assist and six steals. For her performance at the tournament, Myles was voted the Big West Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 4.

    Additionally, for the second week in a row the women's water polo team received six votes in the Collegiate Water Polo Association's Top 20 Poll.
