    Pacific Men's Volleyball: Tigers Continue Hot Start with 3-0 Win Against UC Santa Cruz

    The Pacific men's volleyball team rolls past UC Santa Cruz by a score of 3-0. With the win the Tigers move to 4-0 on the year, while UC Santa Cruz falls to 2-2.

    The set scores for the match were: 30-28, 30-26, and 30-28.

    In the first set Pacific hit .421 compared to the Banana Slugs .255. In the second set the Tigers hit. 370, with UC Santa Cruz hitting .244. Pacific's hitting percentage fell to .158 in the third set and the Banana Slugs to .155.

    The Tigers combined for 48 kills, with senior Kevin Downing (Poipu, Hawaii) assisting for 46.

    Pacific received offensive support from sophomores Taylor Hughes (Fallbrook, Calif.) and Florian Gornik (Schwechat, Austria), each registering 13 kills. Freshman Nicola Vukicevic (Belgrade, Serbia) racked 10 kills. He recorded four blocks, including two solos. Sophomore Sean Daley (Moorpark, Calif.) recorded four, with three solo blocks.

    Senior Mark Bauhs (Danville, Calif.) had a match-high of nine digs.

    UC Santa Cruz was led by Brad Sullivan who had 15 kills.

    The Tigers will take on BYU on January 14 in Provo, Utah for a 6:00 pm scheduled start.
