    Pacific Women's Swimming: Tigers Fall to Stanford, 154-97

    The women's swim team was defeated by Stanford on Saturday, January 9 by a score of 154-97. With the loss the Tigers fall to 4-3 on the season.

    In the 1000 Free sophomore Jayme Swalin (Kenmore, Wash.) registered a third-place finish with a time of 10:28.55. She would later take first in the 500 Free, posting a time of 5:05.88. In the same event, freshman Jenna Chaplin (Nassau, Bahamas) touched second with a time of 5:16.86 and senior KC Albiston (Salt Lake City, Utah) took third with a time of 5:22.21.

    In the 200 Free, the top Pacific finisher was sophomore Elena Walterman (Framingham, Mass.), who took fifth with a time of 1:57.54. Walterman captured a first-place finish in the 200 Fly touching at 2:05.81. Her second first place finish of the day would come in the 100 Fly, when she swam a 57.91. Freshman Megan Machynia (Valencia, Calif.) took second with a time of 1:01.39.

    Senior Devonie Migues (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) swam a 59.82 to take fifth-place in the 100 Back. In the 50 Free, Migues took fourth with a time of 25.32. Freshman Becca Wyant (Redmond, Wash.) finished just after taking fifth with a time of 25.56. Migues took first in the 200 IM, registering a time of 2:11.55 and senior Melissa McGhee (Elk Grove, Calif.) finished second with a time of 2:14.22.

    Freshman Mallory McGowan (Colusa, Calif.) captured a fourth place finish in the 100 Breast, touching at 1:07.26.

    In the 200 Free Relay, the relay team combining senior Brooke Cashion (Irvine, Calif.), Albiston, Machynia, and freshman Zoe Coles (Vallejo, Calif.) finished first with a time of 1:48.44.

    The Tigers will be back in the pool on Saturday, January 16 in Davis to take on UC Davis at 12:00 pm.
