Pacific Men's Basketball - Tigers To Face Nevada At UCLA In Dick's Sporting Goods NIT Season Tip-Off
The Pacific men's basketball team will face Nevada on Nov. 15 in the first round of the 2010 Dick's Sporting Goods NIT Season Tip-Off. UCLA is the host of the West Regional at Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles. The Bruins will play Pepperdine in the regional's other first round game with the two winners meeting on Nov. 16th with a consolation game also taking place that day.
The West Regional winner will advance to the semifinals and play the winner of the East Regional in New York's Madison Square Garden on Nov. 24 with the championship game set for Nov. 26. The remaining 12 teams will play third and fourth-round games on the home campus sites of the three highest remaining seeds. Participating teams will not play any team twice, and the third and fourth rounds will be assigned to the most geographically compatible site possible.
ESPN will provide coverage throughout the event, televising games on ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPNU. Games on ESPN and ESPN2 will be simulcast on ESPN3.com.
The Tigers are seeded ninth in the tournament, against the eighth-seeded Wolf Pack. Pacific came away with a hard-fought 61-58 victory over Nevada last year in the Spanos Center. Pacific finished last season as Co-Champions of the Big West Conference, compiling an overall record of 23-12. The Tigers lost at Missouri State in the championship game of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament.
