Pacific Men's Tennis: Delsin Earns Pacific's Third Player Of The Week Award

Mar 9, 2010
After solid week in which he helped the Pacific men's tennis team upset No. 70 Marquette, senior Renan Delsin (Santa Cruz da Conceicao, Brazil) earned Big West Player of the Week for the week ending on March 7. The weekly honor was the first of Delsin's career and the third award of the season for the Tigers.

In a week in which the Tigers faced off against three nationally ranked programs, Delsin proved to be a solid force in the lineup for Pacific as he notched two individual singles victories while also picking up one doubles win. In three days, Delsin defeated Jeremy Tweedt from No. 47 Hawai'i in straight sets, 7-5, 7-6, while also taking down Jacob Straus of Marquette, 6-3, 6-7, 6-3. Delsin's victory against Marquette helped to seal the Tigers' 4-3 win over the nationally ranked Golden Eagles as Pacific rebounded from a doubles point loss to capture the top four singles spots and the match.

Delsin and the Tigers will be back in action on Saturday, March 13 in Reno, Nev. where they travel to take on the Wolf Pack of Nevada. The match is slated to begin at 1:00 pm.
