    University of the Pacific’s Holiday Drives

    University of the Pacific will hold a variety of holiday drives in the next two months. These drives consist of many activities, from canned food drives, to coat collections, to volunteering out in the community.  For your convenience we have compiled a list of the different drives that will be held. Not only do these events show the different ways that Pacific gets involved in the community during the holiday season, but it also has the potential to inspire others to do what they can.

    •         Can Castle Event- Interfraternity Council will build castles from cans and then donate the cans to local charities. Contact Brian Hutchinson at bhutchinson@u.pacific.edu.

    •         Coat Drive- Educational Resource Center will be a drop off site for News 10's annual coat drive. Contact Educational Resource Center at 209.946.2879.

    •         Collection for the Food Banks of Stockton- Pacific Community Service Committee is partnering with many of the clubs on campus to collect food for local food banks for the winter holidays. Contact Denia Andersen at 209.946.2365.

    •         Adopt-A-Youth Through Family and Youth Services- Housing and Greek Life adopts three to four youth members in the community for the holiday season. Contact Kaceey Casto at 209.946.2331.

    •         Emergency Food Bank-Members of the Housing and Greek Life staff collect items for the food bank and volunteers their time to assist with any needs the bank may have. Contact Kaceey Casto at 209.946.2331.

    •         Goodwill or Salvation Army- Resident Assistants and Resident Directors will work on a drive for Goodwill or Salvation Army. Contact Kaceey Casto at 209.946.2311.

    •         Sewing with Sarah- John Ballantyne residence hall staff will teach residents the basics of sewing to make a quilt for the Domestic Violence Resource Center. Contact Kaceey Casto at 209.946.2331.

    •·         Canned Food Drive- Delta Sigma Theta will have a canned food drive in collaboration with their social, the food will go to the Food Bank of Stockton. Contact Catherine Lewis at trinityof7@sbcglobal.net.

    •         Samaritans Purse - Delta Sigma Theta will help Samaritans Purse, a Christian organization, by placing small gifts in shoe boxes that will be distributed to children in impoverished areas. Contact Catherine Lewis at trinityof7@sbcglobal.net.

    •         Blankets for Seniors- Delta Sigma Theta will make lap blankets for seniors in convalescent homes. Contact Catherine Lewis at trinityof7@sbcglobal.net.

    •         Holiday Book Drive- Pacific athletics teams is partnering with Barnes and Noble to collect books for Mary Graham Children's Shelter.  Contact Georgia Kovich-Lee at 209.472.1676

    •         Canned Food Drive- Rho Delta Chi will host a canned food drive in December with the food going to a local charity. Contact Joanne Gallegos at imjoannegallegos@gmail.com.
