Questions for John Legend Being Accepted Online
Do you have a question for Grammy-winning musician John Legend? Legend, who is performing at the Bob Hope Theatre in Stockton, California Saturday on behalf of University of the Pacific, will answer questions submitted online.
The questions can be submitted on the Facebook Page of the Associated Students of University of the Pacific, http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2203967171&ref=ts. Questions will be screened and sorted. The best questions will be read to Legend during a 30-minute discussion session just before he performs his many hits. The event will start with a screening of the film "Waiting for Superman." Legend worked on the film's soundtrack and has been making televised appearances in support of the film's theme about improving public education in the United States.
"This is a real opportunity for students and the community to have a dialogue with John Legend about music, his thoughts about education, or his views on life in general," said Arlene Brown, events coordinator for the Associated Students at University of the Pacific. "Obviously, we won't have enough time to ask every question, but we will look for the best ones and we will try and get as many questions asked as possible."
All questions must be submitted on the Facebook page by 2 p.m. Saturday to be considered for the Legend appearance. Questions must have identifying information so that Legend has some context for the question. For example, "Lisa, a sophomore from University of the Pacific asks ..." or "John, a second-grade teacher from John Muir Elementary School in Modesto asks ..."
The event starts at 7 p.m. with the film. There will then be a short intermission. After the intermission, Legend will answer questions and then will perform 45 to 60 minutes. Tickets are still available through the Bob Hope Theatre Box Office or can be purchased online at http://www.bobhopetheatre.com/. Tickets for the public cost $30 to $35 each. University of the Pacific students can purchase tickets at a discounted price at the front desk of the Don and Karen DeRosa University Center.
