Media Advisory: Justice Kennedy to Speak at McGeorge School of Law

    Sep 23, 2010

Anthony M. Kennedy, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, will join Lial Jones, Director of the Crocker Art Museum, and Dr. Pamela Eibeck, President of University of the Pacific, to chat briefly about the weekend's grand re-opening event for the Crocker Art Museum.  They will appear at approximately 5pm, Friday, September 24, 2010 following the Justice's lecture to students on the campus of University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.

A Sacramento native and member of the Pacific McGeorge faculty for more than 40 years, Justice Kennedy returns to Sacramento to help celebrate the Crocker's grand re-opening, including the addition of the Charles-Gwathmey-designed Teel Family Pavilion that will substantially expand the museum's exhibit space.  In keeping with the theme of his visit, the Justice's lecture to the law school community is titled "Painting the Law."

Justice Kennedy, who took his seat on the Supreme Court in 1988, remains on the Pacific McGeorge faculty and recently completed his 21st consecutive year of teaching in the law school's summer program in Salzburg, Austria. Dr. Eibeck last year became the 24th president of University of the Pacific, one of Northern California's most distinctive, private universities and the first chartered university in California. Lial Jones is director of the Crocker Art Museum and has overseen its recent renovation and expansion. The museum will re-open to the public on October 10th.
