MLK Luncheon and Award
Greetings from the MLK Awards Luncheon Committee!
The Martin Luther King Jr. Peace and Justice Awards Luncheon honors students, faculty, and staff who demonstrated outstanding contributions to social justice and equality. As a part of this process, the committee invites you to nominate a student, faculty, and/or staff member who you feel is an excellent candidate for this award. All we ask is for your information, the nominee's information, and a brief description of why the nominee merits this distinguished award.
We would like to award those who demonstrate the following qualities:
o Change Agent - Addresses social inequalities;
o Proactive - Acts in advance to overcome challenges and to seek opportunities;
o Courageous - Stands up for peace and justice;
o Legacy - Builds foundations and sustains practices that empowers others;
o Inclusive - Bridges communities across difference, and;
o Love - Celebrates people of all backgrounds and offers unconditional support.
Nominations are due by 11:59 p.m. December 11th, 2011. Please complete the nomination form via Survey Monkey.
We look forward to your nominations and your presence at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Peace & Justice Awards Luncheon from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday January 17th, 2012 in Grace Covell Banquet Hall. Luncheon ticket sales are on sale now at the Multicultural Center. They are $3 for students and $10 for faculty/staff. (On the day of the event tickets will be sold at the door for $5 for students adn $12 for faculty/staff.)
