"The Informal Economy" Lecture
Dr. Niru Yadav a recently-arrived faculty member at the School of International Studies, will examine interactions of the formal and informal sectors of the economy, explaining why and how they exist around the world. She will also comment on diversity within the sectors, types of activity, and identify ownership and financing. During the lecture, Dr. Yadav will examine the growth of each sector, while contrasting views and theories. The professor, a native of Nepal, earned a degree in economic development at the University of Indiana and completed undergaduate studies in Virginia. The presentation will take place in the Community Room of the University Library at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, Dec. 6. The event is free. Refreshments will be served.
