    Pacific Swimming: Tigers Finish First Day of MPSF Swimming & Diving Championships

    Taking part in the inaugural Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Swimming & Diving Championships, Pacific's men's swim team picked up a pair for third place finishes in the 200 Medley Relay and 800 Free Relay races. Pacific's women's swim team had a fifth and sixth place finish in the 200 Medley Relay and 800 Free Relay respectively.

    The women's 200 Medley "A" Relay team consisting of Becca Wyan, Mallory McGowanAllie Vetterlein and MaryElla Randall kicked off the championships for Pacific with a fifth place finish when they collectively had a time of 1:4412. Pacific's men's 200 Medley "A" Relay team made up of Mason KinnardNathan LeRoy, Kevin Schirmer and Steven Woods then followed up with a time of 1:31.24 to come in third behind Cal State Bakersfield and Seattle University.

    In the second relay event of the evening Jayme SwalinJenna ChaplinBo Cameron andHayley Shillington finished sixth in the 800 Free Relay with a pace of 7:33.39. On the men's side of the 800 Free Relay, the Tiger "A" relay team comprised of Kinnard, Oliver Simkovic,Adam Sharp and Steven Woods had a time of 6:44.73 to take the third place finish.

    The Tigers continue action in the second day of the MPSF Swimming and Diving championships on Thursday, February 24 at 10:30 am. The morning session of the MPSF Swimming & Diving Championships at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool will include the preliminary heats of the 500 Free, 200 IM, 50 Free and 400 Medley Relay. The finals heats of the events will begin at 6 pm.
