    Women's Waterpolo: No. 19 Pacific Takes Down No. 16 Indiana, 9-7

    Taking on No. 16 Indiana in the first game of The Rodeo hosted by Santa Clara University, Pacific's women's water polo team defeated the Hoosier 9-7. With the win Pacific improved to 8-4 on the year.

    In the win over the Hoosiers Pacific's offense notched four goals in the first frame, while the Tiger defense limited Indiana to two goals in the first eight minutes in regulation. Pacific's defense was led by freshman Michele Relton (Beaconsfield, QC, Canada) when she registered five saves in the cage.

    In the second quarter Indiana shutout Pacific while tallying two goals to tie the game at four goals apiece to end the first half. However in the second half the Tigers found the back of the net five times while limiting Indiana to three goals for a 9-7 final score.

    The Tigers were paced by senior Dara Tawarahara (Honolulu, Hawaii) who scored four goals in the contest. Also contributing to Pacific's scoring attack were Allie King (Benicia, Calif.),Bethany Quertermous (Humble, Texas), Melissa Loper (Napa, Calif.) and Mandy King(Benicia, Calf.). Freshman Michele Relton (Beaconsfield, QC, Canada) recorded 15 saves in the cage.

    Pacific continues action on Saturday, February 26 in a 4 pm contest against Santa Clara.
