Women's Waterpolo: No. 19 Pacific To Face No. 16 Indiana and Santa Clara At The Rodeo

After splitting action against the competition at Chris Kjeldsen Pool over the weekend, Pacific's women's water polo (7-4) team is staying close to home for a one day tournament at Santa Clara University. The Tigers will head to Santa Clara, Calif., for The Rodeo on Saturday, February 26 to take on No. 16 Indiana and Santa Clara.

In the past weekend of action the Tigers picked up an 8-7 win over California Baptist on Saturday, February 19. Offensively Pacific was paced by Mandy King (Benicia, Calif.) andDara Tawarahara (Honolulu, Hawaii) who scored two goals apiece. Also tallying goals for the Tigers were Siobhan Larsen (Mundelein, Ill.), Melissa Loper (Napa, Calif.), Bethany Quertermous (Humble, Texas) and Elise Martin (Calgary, AB, Canada). During the second day of action, the Tigers suffered a 15-4 loss to No. 1 Stanford. In the contest Chelsea Weir(Seal Beach, Calif.), Malena Prlain (Portland, Ore.), Quertermous and Tawarahara scored one goal apiece. Freshman Michele Relton (Beaconsfield, QC, Canada) finished the weekend with 12 saves in the cage for Pacific.

Collegiate Water Polo Association
For the fifth consecutive week, Pacific's women's water polo team remains at the No. 19 spot in the Collegiate Water Polo Association's (CWPA) Top-20 national poll. The Tigers have held strong at the number 19 spot since falling one spot from No. 18 in the preseason poll released on January 12.

Pacific travels to The Rodeo hosted by Santa Clara University on Saturday, February 26. The Tigers will take on No. 16 Indiana at 10:45 am. They will then conclude the one day tournament with a 4 pm contest against Santa Clara.
