Women's Waterpolo: No. 19 Pacific Defeats George Washington, 14-6

Taking on George Washington (GW) in the first game of the day on Sunday, February 14, Pacific women's water polo team defeated the Colonials 14-6. With the win the Tigers improved to 5-3 on the season.

In the first frame the Tigers took an early 1-0 lead while shutting out the Colonials when freshman Michele Relton (Beaconsfield, QC, Canada) recorded 3 saves in the cage. Pacific then cruised to a seven point advantage after racking up an additional eight goals in the second quarter. Entering the second half leading 9-2 Pacific never looked back as the offense tallied five goals through the second half while giving up four goals to GW for a 12-6 final score.

Individually the Tigers were led by senior Dara Tawarahara (Honolulu, Hawaii) and freshman Malena Prlain (Portland, Ore.) who tallied three goals apiece in Pacific's victory. Freshman Michele Relton (Beaconsfield, QC, Canada) recorded 12 saves in the cage for Pacific.

The Tigers will be back in action on Sunday, February 13, when they conclude action at the Princeton Invitational with a tilt against the tournament host Tigers of Princeton. The game is scheduled for 10:30 am PST.
