Women's Waterpolo: Tiger Finish First Day of the Princeton Invitational Undefeated, Downs Villanova 19-2

Playing in their second contest of the day, Pacific's women's water polo team defeated Villanova 19-2. With the win the Tigers improved to 4-3 on the season.

The Tigers opened the first quarter taking an impressive 7-1 lead. Pacific then scored a combined nine goals in the second and third quarters while holding Villanova scoreless to extend the Tiger lead to 15. In the last eight minutes of regulation the Pacific gave up just one goal while finding the back of the net three times for a 19-2 final score. FreshmanMichele Relton (Beaconsfield, QC, Canada) had another strong showing for Pacific, recording six saves in the first half and eight saves in the second half.

Individually the Tigers were led by Siobhan Larsen who tallied four goals, while Jessica Loper (Napa, Calif.) completed the hat trick for the second consecutive game. FreshmanMichele Relton (Beaconsfield, QC, Canada) recorded 14 saves in the cage.

Pacific continues action on Sunday, February 13, at the Princeton Invitational against George Washington at 7:30 am PST.
