    Women Waterpolo: No. 19 Tigers Fall In Double OT To Santa Clara, 8-7

    Facing regional opponent Santa Clara in the second game of The Rodeo, Pacific's women's water polo team was defeated by the Broncos, 8-7, in double overtime. With the loss Pacific felt to 8-5 on the year while the Broncos improved to 7-8 (5-2 WWPA) on the season.

    The Broncos quickly took the 1-0 lead in the first frame. Santa Clara then tallied two additional goals in the second quarter however the Tigers countered with four goals of their own to take the 4-3 lead to end the half.. While neither team was able to score in the third quarter, the Broncos went up 6-4 with 3:38 left in the final frame. Pacific countered and scored a pair of goals to tie the game at 6-6, sending the contest into double overtime.

    During the first of two overtime periods, both Pacific and Santa Clara found the back of the net once to keep the game tied. With the score seven all heading into the second overtime period, Claire Eadington of Santa Clara notched a goal with :04 remaining on the clock to lift the Broncos over the Tigers, 8-7.

    The Tigers return to action March 5-6 at the Aggie Shootout in Davis. Calif. Pacific will open the two day tournament with an 11:45 am game against Santa Clara followed by a 3:45 pm contest against Sonoma State.
