    Pacific Women's Waterpolo: Tigers Drop Second Game In Final Day Of Spartan Invitational

    Playing in their final game of the day, Pacific’s women’s water polo team was defeated by Cal State Monterey Bay (CSUMB), 8-7, at the Spartan Invitational. With the loss the Tigers fall to 1-3 on the season.

    The Tigers were down two goals at the end of the first quarter after giving up five goals to the Otters. In spite of holding CSUMB to one goal in the final three frames of regulation, Pacific’s four goals were not enough to send the contest into overtime.

    Individually leading Pacific’s scoring offense was Mandy King with two goals. Also find the back of the net once for the Tigers was Malena Prlain, Bethany Quertermous, Dara Tawarahara and Chelsea Weir.

    Freshman Michelle Relton registered nine saves in the cage for Pacific.

    The Tigers return to action on Saturday, February 5, in the 2011 home opener against Cal State Easy Bay. The game is scheduled to begin at noon.
