    Volleyball: Tomaszewska Signs In Belgium To Continue Her Playing Career

    Heading back to the court as a player after spending last season as an assistant coach at Colby Community College, former Tiger Natalia Tomaszewska has signed a professional contract to play for Barbar X-elles in Belgium.  Tomaszewska will join her new team on August 5 to prepare for the upcoming season in the Belgium's top division, Division of Honour.

    In addition to her playing duties as a middle blocker for the top club, Tomaszewska will continue her coaching as head of one of the organization's youth squads.  

    For Tomaszewska and her teammates, the new year will begin on August 7  before heading to Vosges, France for a week of training camp.  Training throughout September the teams first match will take place on Saturday, October 1 when the square off against Blaasveld.

    Tomaszewska finished off her Pacific volleyball career in 2009 with a selection to the All-Big West honorable mention team for the second consecutive season. Closing out her career, Tomaszewska proved to be Pacific's most reliable hitter at the net on her way to her second straight honorable mention award. In the middle of the Tigers' attack, Tomaszewska finished the season with a team and career-best .326 hitting percentage, a mark which ranked just outside of the program's single season top-10. For the year, Tomaszewska posted 195 kills in 28 matches while averaging 1.82 kills per set while also adding a career-high 24 service aces. On the defensive end, the senior middle blocker posted 85 blocks including 12 solo efforts while also adding 50 digs. In total, Tomaszewska tallied 267.5 points in her final season for the Tigers, besting her previous season high set as a freshman. For her career, Tomaszewska posted 605 kills, 61 service aces and 186 blocks in four seasons.
