Los Danzantes de Pacific to Perform
Nov 14, 2011

Los Danzantes de Pacific, the first traditional Mexican folkloric dance group established at Pacific, invites the campus and Stockton community to "Carnaval de las Calaveras" on Thursday, Nov. 17. The event, which will feature performances by the group, as well as food and other activities, will be held at 6 p.m. in Raymond Great Hall (doors open at 5:30 p.m.). Tickets are $2 for students with ID, $5 for general public, and free for children under 10.

In addition to Los Danzantes, the Modesto youth ballet folkloric dance group Grupo Folklórico Mixtlán will also perform. Pacific Spanish Professor Martin Camps will recite some of his poetry as well. The event is designed to share Latin culture and traditions with the surrounding and campus communities. There will be food, crafts, face painting, a coloring contest and music. The event is open to the community and tickets may be purchased outside the DeRosa University Center this week or at the event.
