Flu Shots Available on Monday

Nov 3, 2011

With flu season upon us, the University is offering a second flu-shot clinic for the campus community from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7 in Grace Covell Hall. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that people get their seasonal flu vaccine as soon as the vaccine becomes available in their community, and says that flu vaccinations are the best prevention from the influenza virus. Vaccination before December is best since this timing ensures that protective antibodies are in place before flu activity is typically at its highest. The CDC continues to encourage people to get vaccinated throughout the flu season, which can begin as early as October and last as late as May.
