UOP Percussion Ensemble in Concert

The Conservatory of Music presents the Pacific Percussion Ensemble in concert on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in Faye Spanos Concert Hall; The free concert is directed by Al Brown. Percussion music from Cuba, Brazil, Guatemala, France, and America will be performed, featuring Conservatory percussion majors playing a wide array of percussion instruments, including such unique found objects as automobile brake drums, iron pipes, water buffalo bells as well as more traditional instruments.  Special features of the concert include Lou Harrison's "Canticle N0. 3"  for ocarina, guitar and percussion, and the premiere appearance of Pacific's "all-girl" mallet quartet featuring Kaitlin Brady, Andrea Chattler, Katie Tanner, and Saki Uemura performing Michael Boo's arrangement of Debussy's "Clair de Lune".
