Pacific Men's Basketball Signs Sama Taku For 2012-13

University of the Pacific Head Men's Basketball Coach Bob Thomason has announced the signing of Sama Taku for the 2012-13 season.

Taku is a 6-1 combo guard from Tucson, Arizona. He is finishing up his second year at Santa Rosa Junior College where he was a teammate of current Tiger Lorenzo McCloud. Sama played in 31 games, leading the Bear Cubs to a 26-6 record a first Big 8 Conference championship with a 14-1 league mark. He led the team with 18.0 points per game and 107 assists as a sophomore. He also had 29 steals and was the teams top rebounder with 160 total boards. He was the Big 8 Conference's Most Valuable Player, while also earning First Team All-State honors. As a senior at Tucson High School in 2010, he was named 5A Player of the Year by theTucson Citizen."

Sama is an athletic combo guard that will bring quickness, scoring and leadership to the Tiger backcourt next season," said Thomason.
