Making Fitness Fun
This semester, the Baun Fitness Center unleashed two new programs to help liven up student's and staff's workout routine. Tiger Jamz and BFC Blackout are designed to bring a different atmosphere to the fitness center says Bryan Lenz, assistant director for recreation.
"I hate the same old sterile place with fluorescent lights," said Lenz. "Tiger Jamz and BFC Blackout was our idea of changing things up."
Tiger Jamz takes over the cardio section of the fitness center with special lighting and a DJ spinning the latest hits. If group classes are more of your thing, BFC Blackout drenches TigerX classes after 4 p.m. with black lights and culminates with a Black Light Cycle class at 9 p.m.
In addition to Tiger Jamz and BFC Blackout, Pacific Recreation helps students get off campus through Tiger Escapes. They've recently hiked at Stinson Beach, played paintball, and spent the day at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.
Want to take advantage of these great programs? Catch the final Tiger Jamz on April 5 from 7-10 p.m. and BFC Blackout on April 19. Or get some fresh air and join Tiger Escapes as they kayak Lodi Lake on April 14.
