After concluding Big West Conference play last weekend, the Pacific women's water polo team wraps up its regular season Saturday, April 21, in a nonconference match versus Santa Clara at noon.

The Tigers will say goodbye to their three seniors, Kim KayBrittany Lloyd and Sophie Waldron, prior to the start of the match. Lloyd will leave the program after earning four letters while Kay and Waldron lettered twice.

Pacific (10-16, 1-4 Big West) found itself in a pair of one-goal games last weekend, upsetting then-No. 18 Cal State Northridge in overtime, 10-9, before falling to then-No. 15 UC Santa Barbara, 8-7. All told, the Tigers have played in eight one-goal games on the year and are 2-6 in those games.

Sophomore Michele Relton had a monster day in the cage versus the Matadors, blocking a school-record 19 shots, setting a career high in the process. Freshmen Taylor Adair and Brydie Pye accounted for six of the Tigers' 10 goals against CSUN, including Pacific's last five scores. Adair netted both of Pacific's overtime goals.

Kay came up big for the Tigers against UCSB, scoring a game-high four goals, three of which came in the third quarter. Pye also played well, recording her second consecutive hat trick.

Santa Clara (8-24, 7-8 Western Water Polo Association) enters Saturday's tilt on a two-game skid after winning three of four matches to start the month of April. The Broncos are winless in six games versus Big West opponents, including a 10-9 loss to Pacific back in January. The Tigers trailed by two at halftime before ripping off six third-quarter goals while limiting SCU to one goal in the frame. Sophomore Elise Martin paced Pacific with five goals while sophomore Malena Prlain added three scores.

After Saturday's game concludes, Pacific will begin preparation for next weekend's Big West Tournament at UC Davis. The Tigers open the tournament against UC Santa Barbara on Friday, April 27, at 5:15 pm. For information on game times, tickets and directions to the tournament, click here.
