Pacific Athletics Signs Long-Term Deal With Nike

Dec 14, 2012

University of the Pacific Athletics has announced the signing of a long-term apparel agreement with Nike, beginning with the 2013-14 athletic season. Pacific student-athletes will be sporting the swoosh on all athletic related apparel from head to toe through the 2017-18 season.

"Nike is the worldwide leader in sports apparel and Pacific Athletics is proud to enter into this partnership," said Pacific's Vice President for External Affairs and Athletics Ted Leland. "We anticipate a long, mutually beneficial relationship between Nike and Pacific moving forward."

"It's very exciting for Pacific," said Pacific men's basketball head coach Bob Thomason. "Outfitting the entire department is a big step and will help with our branding as Pacific moves into the West Coast Conference. I've really enjoyed our relationship with Nike and they will do a great job."

This is the first time that Pacific has held an all encompassing agreement for apparel.

Pacific currently has 18 sport programs with over 300 student-athletes and will expand to 19 with the future addition of men's soccer.
