Feb 29, 2012

The San Joaquin Entrepreneur Challenge is an "American Idol" style, multiround business-plan competition with expert and audience judging.

Nineteen contestants have been selected to deliver two-minute "elevator pitch" presentations to a public audience and a panel of judges in the first round of competition, to be held from 4 to 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 29 at Stockton Country Club.

Eight semi-finalists to emerge from the first round will then make a public, five-minute business-plan presentation on March 21 - also to be held from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at Stockton Country Club.

Finally, four finalists will participate in a business simulation to select two winners who will receive cash and services worth $24,000.

The competition is presented by the San Joaquin Angels investor group in partnership with University of the Pacific and several regional economic development organizations.
