Pacific Softball: Weather Remains Unbeaten, Tigers Postpone Trip To Berkeley

Feb 29, 2012

Keeping its 4.54 billion year streak intact, mother nature has come out on top once again remaining unbeaten as rain and poor weather conditions have caused the Pacific softball team to postpone its contest with No. 1 ranked Cal on Wednesday, February 29.  No future date has yet been decided on for the two teams to meet.

With the cancellation of the Tigers' midweek contest, Pacific's next action will be at home as the team host the 2012 Louisville Slugger Invitational at Bill Simoni Field from March 2-4.  The home tournament will be the first time the Tigers play at home in 2012 after spending the first three weeks of the season on the road.  Joining Pacific at the tournament will be No. 3 Washington, Sacramento State and Delaware.  The tournament's festivities will begin at 11:00 am on Friday, March 2 when Washington and Sacramento State square off in game one.  The Tigers will get their first action later in the day at 3:30 pm when they take on the Hornets in their home opener followed by a tilt with Delaware at 5:45 pm.

Prior to the Pacific's contest with Delaware, the Tigers will officially dedicate the scoreboard at Bill Simoni Field to the family of Don and Thelma Stewart.  The Stewart family's generous donation to Pacific softball enabled the Tigers to improve Bill Simoni Field with a brand new scoreboard for the 2012 season.
