Pacific Alumni Nominated for GRAMMY Awards

Pacific Alumni will be well represented at the 54th GRAMMY Awards ceremony, which will take place next month in Los Angeles.   

Mack Avenue Records, Inc. in Los Angeles, a company headed by Denny Stilwell, past President of the Pacific Alumni Association, and a member of the Conservatory's Music Management Advisory Board,  has collected four nominations:

  • Best Jazz Instrumental Album - Timeline by the Yellowjackets
  • Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album - The Good Feeling by Christian McBride Big Band
  • Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album - Legacy - the Gerald Wilson Orchestra
  • Best Intrumental Composition - Russell Ferrante for Timeline by the Yellowjackets

Nick Phillips, Vice President at Concord Music Group in Los Angeles , and also a member of the Conservatory's Music Management Advisory Board, produced an album that was nominated for Best Jazz Vocal Album: 'Round Midnight by Karrin Allyson.   Concord placed four more jazz albums on the nomination list.
