Pacific Raises Most In Big West SAAC Coin Drive For Second Straight Year

Pacific student-athletes excelled in the Big West Conference Student Athlete Advisory Committees (SAAC) Coin Drive for a second straight year as $3,485.24 was raised to lead all league schools. Tiger student-athletes raised the most money for the third time in four years, with the money raised going to the St. Joseph's Medical Foundation for Breast Cancer Services.

It was a joint effort as the schools combined to bring in $10,787.14 to be distributed to the nine institutionally selected charities.

The Tigers sum will be accompanied with 25 percent from each of the other eight institutions total collected for a grand total of over $5,500 donated.

Seven of the nine Big West SAAC's brought in over $1,000 to be donated to the charity of their choice, some of the recipient organizations include: Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center (UC Davis), Read Across America, California Teachers Association (Long Beach State), Highland Elementary (UC Riverside), Children's Hospital of Orange County, Heart Institute (UC Irvine), Valley Trauma Center (Cal State Northridge) and the Children's Foundation of Orange Wood.
