Pacific Pulls Away Late For Victory At West Lyon

The Pacific men's basketball team pulled away late for an 82-72 victory at West Lyon on Wednesday, Aug. 15.

The Tigers took an early 13-5 lead, but West Lyon came back to even it up at 13-13 with 3:30 to play in the first period. Pacific followed up with a quick 6-0 spurt, capped by a three-pointer from junior Andrew Bock. Pushing the ball in the first half, the Tigers were able to surge ahead by 14 (32-18) and held a 42-31 halftime advantage.

West Lyon rallied in the third period, outscoring the Tigers 24-13 to even the score at 55-55 heading to the fourth period. Bock started a 6-0 run with a jumper to begin the final period, as the Tigers pushed the lead to 13 in the final moments before getting the 10 point victory.

Bock led Pacific with 18 points, while junior Sama Taku added 14 points and junior Khalil Kelley had 13 points. Bock, Taku and Kelley accounted for 21 of the Tigers' 27 fourth period points.
